Overclocking queries regarding Athlon II X4

I have an Athlon II X4 620 that I am considering overclocking after installing a Hyper TX3. However, I read that you need a 4+1 VRM at least to OC properly, and my mobo seems to have a 3+1. I'm guessing it is 3+1 cause I can se 4 black boxes near the CPU, I think they are the chokes?
It's a Asus M5A78L-M LX V2 btw, according to specs it can support upto 125w TDP chips.

So, is overclocking a no go on this board? If it is, then I'll probably save up and get a better chip in the new year, but I'd rather avoid it if I can, cash a little short.

I want to overclock because NFS Rivals doesn't run smoothly at stock speeds. OCing to 3.12 at 1.4V makes it much smoother, but the game keeps crashing. OCCT tests also crash after 10 minutes or so. I can't increase the voltage any higher because of temperatures on stock cooler, but am reluctant to get a new cooler if the mobo anyway can't maintain stability at higher voltages.

So guys, what do you say?

Solution
ah! very good then - the choke is more towards the middle of the DIMM slot so it looks 4+1.
(edit: actually the one that moved is for the chipset . .silly me.)

sure get another cooler like an inexpensive coolermaster hyper 212+ or EVO. BUT please keep in mind you're at the "low end" of what is acceptable for OCing and won't be able to go crazy. exactly how far you can go i honestly cannot say, sorry.
that would be 4+1 the 4 by the cpu is for the cpu the one by the dimm slot by the 24 pin connection is for the RAM.

but it looks to me that according to ASUS it supports only up to 95 watts cpus(?)

AMD AM3+ FX™/Phenom™ II/Athlon™ II/Sempron™ 100 Series Processors
Supports CPU up to 95 W
AMD Cool 'n' Quiet™ Technology
* 32nm AM3+ CPU is supported by BIOS version 0401 and later

edit: i'll still think you'll be ok though. just take it easy until you're sure.

That much I'm aware off, not aiming for any insane clocks, looking for something around 3.2-3.6 or so, Phenom II clocks rather than mad ones.
Either way, thanks, will be placing an order for it tom :)
