Hi!

Have had an Epox board before and was able to run a XP+ 1700 with
B-stepping as a 2400+ by setting CPU voltage and CPU multiplier.

Now, with a KT6V, when I say FSB 133, CPU voltage 1.725 and 15x
multiplier the board boots with a CPU speed of ',733', according to the
BIOS message during booting.

MSI's CoreCenter says it's a 133 FSB and 5.5x multiplier, a 733 MHz machine.

Even a BIOS upgrade didn't change this.

Any help available?

Thanks, Jimmy

not all boards/processors take multipliers at face value. some need to
re-map certain ones to make others work. i cannot remember the values but an
example of what i mean would be that the board will re-map a 15x to become a
5.5x resulting in the said speed. so if you set the multiplier in bios to a
lower value it will most likely result in a higher value than the current.

i hope this makes sense to you

Yes, it makes sense.

Thanks, Jimmy
