Okay my system is

GTX1060 6gb
Ryzen 5 1500x
MSI B350 Tomahawk motherboard
Adata Spectrix RGB DDR4 Ram 2400 16-16-16

I used performancetest 9.0 to evaluate my system before and after raising the frequency of my ram. I updated my BIOS today. I raised my ram from 2400 to 3000 and it shows a gain from being at 56% and jumping to 63%. It jumped the whole systems rating from 78% to 84%. My processor and GPU also showed gains.

My question.....Am I interpreting these results wrong? Could my ram have been bottlenecking my system? (I am totally new to overclocking anything) I read that increasing ram frequency shouldn't affect much, but I feel like I saw gaming FPS increased.

Opinions please?

Thanks

Ryzen and it's sub system reacts very well to RAM performance unlike FX and previous processors. I have similar experience. My present RAM defaults to 2400MHz but I have it running at 3266MHz. Ptest score goes from 1740 to 2210 and processor by 60 or 70 points. My GPU is to weak to register much gain but it does a bit.
