Question Overclocking RAM, why doesn't my RAM follows the CL value I set in BIOS?

Hello.

So I'm new and learning on overclocking RAMs. My system is:

  • Ryzen 5 3600x overclocked to 4.3Ghz, 1.28V
  • Gigabyte B550M DS3H (UD series)
  • RAM Team Elite 16GB kit (2x8) 3200 22-22-22-52
Sadly it seems that my RAM is not XMP certified (no XMP tab when viewing in CPU-Z), but I used Ryzen DRAM calculator anyway, and got this value:

So I went to BIOS, and plugged the numbers on the 'memory timings' under 'overclock' tab. Changed the memory voltage to 1.4V.

But as you can see from the first image, the timing did change, but from 22 to 20. Why can't it follow the value I set in the BIOS? I mean, I thought it should work like overclocking cpu and gpu, which is, it follows the number I set, and becomes unstable, if it just can't do it. So I was expecting the CL, for example, follows my set value 14, and then probably becomes unstable, and I loosen up the timing bit by bit until it's stable. Or am I wrong from the start?

Thank you.
