Hey everyone, I have some questions about overclocking RAM. I am pretty comfortable with overclocking my CPU and GPUs however I have yet to try overclocking RAM. I'm running 32gb of Corsair Vengeance RAM at 1600mhz on an asus rampage IV extreme mobo, if I were to say overclock it to 1866mhz would I encounter any heat issues? Also I'm running BF3 on my ram using ram disk, would I get even faster loading times if I overclock? Overall would I notice much difference?

Thanks a lot!

Vengeance are not good candidates for OC'ing, so IMO leave the XMP Profile set.

Chances are the VCCSA is set @ 1.20v which leaves you increasing the DRAM Voltage to 1.60v and possible increases for the Phase and Current control.

I'm assuming the CMZ16GX3M4X1600C9 DDR3-1600 9-9-9-27-2N @ 1.50v

You can try, no guarantees especially with two kits the following:

BIOS:
/First under Tools/OC Profiles, save your current BIOS Configuration

AI Overclock Tuner -> Manual
DRAM Frequency -> DDR3-1866
DRAM Timing Control /Enter
(Start with 10-10-10-30-2N) (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS-CR)

DRAM AB & CD Current Capability -> 120%
DRAM AB & CD Phase Control -> Optimized
DRAM Voltage -> 1.55v
CPU VCCSA Voltage -> Manual
CPU VCCSA Manual Voltage -> 1.20v

/optional, but good if you're OC the CPU:
VCCSA Load-Line Calibration -> Regular
VCCSA Current Capability -> 120%

F10 Save and Exit -> Yes

Cross fingers.
