to start off here are my new pc specs and yes only for gaming:

CPU : Xeon w3520 @2.66Ghz
GPU: Msi r9 270 2gb gaming edition
Ram: Corsair xms3 4gb 1333mhz
HDD x3: x1 640 and x2 320gb

now i know that the processor has hyper threading support the the clock speed looks low..its just me. Many forms show that the cpu is capable of overclocking to 4.3 ghz and for me i do not need that much speed if i could get like 3.00ghz it would be fine right..the reason am here is because my last mother died due to overclocking it was a amd athlon ii x4 645 processor. the processor still works but the board just died on me my point is am a little scared to overclock this new cpu just because what happened to the last one just give me some pointers please OH! and the motherboard am using now is the Asus sabertooth x58 motherboard thank you in advance

yes its capable of overclocking it was it that i found out it could overclock the cpu that high yes i have a aftermarket cooler but i want to get the H55 watercooler i just don't want to kill this board or do anything wrong
