hi, i recently bought a ryzen 5 3600 and after running the system i started noticing really high temps out of the box. it would spike upto 84c from 75 while gaming. and hover around 64c when just browsing and opening applications.
but i manually set the the cpu at 4.2ghz with 1.2v using ryzen master. it did a quik stree test where it reached 76c. and when gaming it rarely goes past 80c.
is this fine or will i run into problems later on. i AM using the stock cooler.

Lol 1.2v @4.2ghz is like the best you can get from this chip. Are you sure that you stress tested the cpu when all cores are at 100%? Also run a cinebench test and make sure that you get at least 3.600 points.
My cpu in auto configuration runs @4.1 with 1.34v when stress testing with cinebench and i get ~3.500 points. I use an aftermarket cooler thought. I dumped the stock day one cause i was hitting 80 -90c.

i ran cinebench and got a score of 3782. also im running a crucial ballistix kit (3200mhz) overclocked to 3600mhz with 16.19.16.36.58 timings

What about the single core performance? With default settings when only one core is active the voltage is @ 1.45V... Did you run single core performance test on Cinebench?

i did a little further testing and was able to bring the voltage down to 1.11875v and was able to pass the cinebench r20 test with a score of 3775 and a max temp of 80c. on stock cooler using ryzen master
