I managed to overclock my cpu from normal 166 FSB to 190 and i really like the extra 250 mhz but i think it's heating up.
after running a cpu stress test i found that cpu maxes out at 56 C and the cpu core at 88 C 😱 so the logic and probably stupid question is, is this to hot?

here ar some pics

note: in first pic cpu core = 71 because benchmark was off, it did actually reach 88 :)
and btw my mb is A7N8X-X

yeah but core temp reaches 70 (@100%) and more even at normal clock :)
and the cooling isn't even stock, it's a titan cooler with 4000 rpm:)

Looks like you may need to get a heatpipe cooler -- they do a much better job than the heatsink+fan only coolers. IIRC, the coolers AMD supplied with their (hot) FX chips were heatpipe-based.

Hi
I am running the exact same settings with the same cpu
- on a asrock k7and the cpu temp is 36C
- using a Thermlake tornado 7 at 5400 rpm
- try another cpu fan that has to the problem :bounce:
Good lUck

nop the problem is the cpu itself. it heats up when you overclock it.
runing @70-75 C max in 100% for 1 month now and it hasn't burned out 😀
1,75 -> 2.05 Ghz is not bad... i think :)
