I have a ASUS GTX 970 strix,
I have sa 600w cooler master v.2 power supply. Currently I have a 1x8pin connected. What is a safe overclock?

Solution
You will need to try it yourself as all cards are different when it comes to how far they can oc. Try going up 10-20mhz and running a 3DMark benchmark, if it doesn't crash/artifact/overheat then it's probably stable and you can add 10-20mhz more and repeat. If you see the score drop at all, or it artifacts/crashes, back it down by 10/20mhz and test it for longer using a game or benchmark loop.

Highest stable OC without adding voltage is what you want. Set GPU clock to 1350 and memory clock to 7600. Don't touch voltage, leave power at 100%, put temperature at 80c. Enjoy your games. You can google a video on YouTube and JJ from Asus PCDIY will explain in depth. The above OC settings will work for a majority of Strix 970 and 980 without problem. Use GPU Tweak 2 for Asus cards

Thanks!

Happy overclocking :)

When overclocking, ALWAYS increase the power target slider as high as you can. It doesn't do anything but allow the GPU to draw a little more wattage from the PSU.

The voltage on the 970 STRIX is locked at 1.212v. Adjusting the voltage does nothing at all.
