Overclocking unnecessary for me?

Hi,

I recently overclocked my Core i5 760 from 2,8 ghz to 3,3 ghz. I am a beginner at this but the system seems stable. I use my computer mainly for gaming. What I have read about my processor is that it has some kind of turbo mode which allows it to reach 3,33 ghz when needed. Isn't it completely unnecessary for me to OC it to 3,3 then? I was happy about my accomplishment earlier for getting it to 3,3 but now I'm wondering.

Would be greatful for an answer!

Thanks!

it's not the same, turbo boost i5 760 is 3467 MHz (1 core), 3333 MHz (2 cores), 2933 MHz (3 or 4 cores) .. if you overclock by all cores in BIOS , that all ran at 3.3GHz .. but will better if the turbo boost disabled, your CPU should be able to reach 3.6GHz if you raise VCPU and Vtt slightly or more. With decent cooling .. just @ suggestion

Thanks, for the answer. So I will get higher speed when overclocking all cores to 3,3? I am actually considering your suggestion because I don't notice that much difference in performance from my oc. I don't like to increase the voltage since it consuming more power that way.
