Hey guys hopefully I can get a little bit of help here. I recently purchased a Asus M3A79-T Deluxe because my M2n32-sli deluxe died on me. My rig consists of the M3a79, 4 gig of dual channel DDR2-1066 Dominator memory, AMD 64X2 6000+ processor, Evga 8800 GTS 512 (G92) and Vista home premium 32 bit. I realize that the 6000+ is an older processor but I am beginning to upgrade for the Phenom 2's. I am having problems oc'ing with the new board. I had my settings on the m2n32 at: FSB: 242 CPU Mult: 14x and the HT multiplier 4x (968). I had the ram set at 5-5-5-15 2t 2.1v. The system was stable running Prime95 with no errors for 8 hours. With the M3A79 I don't have the HT multiplier but I have Cpu-NB link speed which is 200,400,600,800 or 1000MHZ. I can get the fsb to 220x14 3.08 and the ht is at 1100. I can't drop the multiplier to 4x no matter what I do. I have dropped the CPU-NB link speed to 800mhz and my system won't post. I updated the bios to 0609 also. If you guys have any thoughts or fixes on this let me know. I have never had this problem oc'ing before.

Hey brian,

I have both boards that you have, but I have a 9850be oc to 3.2 stable on water cooling and a 6400x2 be. on the Asus m2n32-sli deluxe wifi, oc to 3.4 stable on air. If you are looking to replace the m2n32 i might be willing to part with my second build with the 6400x2 be... sorry I cant help with info on ocing your new board, I don't run a x2 on it... However I love the new 79-t for the 9850be.... Good luck

Hey Brian,
The X2 6000+ doesnt have an unlocked multiplier. If you have a cpu with an unlocked multi. i.e black edition you should see a menu in the BIOS under advanced>jumper free>switch AI Overclocking to manual (once its on manual, it will show all of your overclocking options) and it should look like this :

The 2nd picture you see above is of my Phenom 9950 (stock 2.6ghz, oc to 3.0ghz)
However Im not so sure you can see this menu anyway, if you can, some of it may be grayed out. If you want to OC the 6000+ (besides 3.1ghz isnt enough? that cpu runs warm and at 3.1 its cruising) youll have to use the FSB Frequency. BTW what does the board default your voltage to? If I remember its in the high 1.4's. You might try backing it down low as possible until its no longer stable.
I have your CPU in my wife's pc and its a fantastic chip, also I use your mobo (love it!) Also If you having issues, there is a BIOS update available (i think its v0703) and this may help some of your issues, even though its an update to support the latest Phenoms.

This thread is a little old but I thought id help if anyone else is reading this.
