Overclocking without watercooling

Hello all,

I was wondering how safe it is to overclock the Intel i5-7600k (base 3.8gz) to 4.5 ghz without watercooling.

I do currently have a $70 "Be Quiet!" CPU fan, which i'll link below.

I plan on overclocking this CPU with my 1080 until i have the money to purchase an i7-7700k (can't use 8700k on my mb).

Lots of people do it, just monitor your temps. Also unless you go for a very high quality AIO or custom loop water coolers dont do any better then a quality air cooler.

I overclock my i7 8700k with a Cryorig R1, so overclocking with an air cooler is most definitely possible. You can get a Cryorig H7 that performs similarly to the dark rock 4 for ~$25 less than that dark rock 4.
