Hey folks.
I'm currently running a Xeon E5-2665 on an Asus Rampage Extreme IV. During next year I plan to switch for an I7 3930k or 4930k. Meanwhile I want to squeeze the max power out of this server chip, but I was just able to run on 105mhz baseclock. I'm not experienced in overclocking. So I hope you can help me. (Temps looking good and 600W PSU shall be enough)
Looking forward to pieces of advice. :)

Yes I know. Non "K" or "X" Intel Processors have a fixed multiplier. (Mine is fixed on 24)
But there is a possibility to raise the overall clock. When you overclock the motherboard baseclock, which is multiplied with the CPU multiplier. Stock clock is 100 MHz. As I mentioned I where able to go for 105 MHz. That means 2,4ghz --> 2,52ghz for the CPU.
The point is, I have seen many others going for far more than just 105mhz. In my Bios are a bunch of Setting and I barely know the meaning of the multiplier and the core voltage. So I hoped I can get help here.

600w psu would be enough for most of the modern single gpu configuration. make sure you have decent cooler like noctua nh-d15s or if you can afford h100i v2 liquid cooler to keep system calm.

The CPU Temps in Idle are around 45 C°, spike at 63 C° (with 105mhz baseclock). The CPU cooler is a cheap one (Alpenföhn sth.), but performs decently I think. But when required I will get a liquid cooling system.

Yes i will See...
But Can anybody help me to get a little bit more out of this CPU ?
Which parameters I have to change in order to achieve a higher baseclock ?
