Overclocking Zotac's Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 ti AMP Omega

Hi,
So I recently got the title card and wanted to dabble with OCing the card beyond the quick boost options from Firestorm. I tried looking for tried and trusted OC settings for this card but dint have much luck. I tried incrementing the core and memory clocks 1% at a time which at times caused crashes and hangs.

With the fear of rendering my card un-usable, I would like to get some over clocking advice from seasoned overclockers or tried and trusted configurations from users of the same card who successfully got more performance out of the card.

In overclocking, there never is a tried and trusted configuration you can apply and work with every of the same card. Everything is trial and tribulation. You should download Precision X or Afterburner and get yourself the Heaven Benchmark tool. Start by increasing core clock in increments of +10-15Mhz until you experience artifacts, freezing, hard locks or driver crashes. Then you drop the last adjustment you made to maybe +5 and try until you can run the benchmark consistently. At this point you can move onto the memory clock and do the same but in +25 increments. You can also push your power limit to the max and raise the GPU temp limit if necessary. Make sure you create a custom fan curve to keep your GPU as cool as possible. Its not necessary to adjust voltage as Maxwell cards are really finnicky with these adjustments and they dont tend to help much. Good luck. You should be able to hit around 1500+ Total Core clock and around 8000 Mhz memory. But again, every card is different and some cant OC as well, its just the luck of the draw(lottery)

I am now trying what you suggested and got the core clock stable at 1500 which you were spot on about , however i have a question regarding the memory, my base memory started around ¬3550MHz and even if i would max out the bar on precision(didnt ), i can get max 2000 additional, how would I ever get even near 8000 MHz? or should i be worried about my card being faulty ><

Multiply your memory, so that means your stock memory speed is 7100Mhz. You would have to add +900Mhz memory overset to reach memory =8000Mhz. You may or may not be able to do that. Trials and tribulations buddy. Good luck.
