Hi guys I have an i7-3770k with a 980ti and I recently overclocked my water cooled cpu. Above is a picture for reference: The PC is using a P8Z77V motherboard. I used Aida64 and it said CPU throttling (3%) - “Overheating detected!”

I ran the test with the following boxes checked:
Stress CPU, Stress System Memory, Stress GPU.

I don’t have the opportunity to do a stress test myself rn, but before the overclock my cpu never reached those temperatures. What could be wrong?

Solution
If I understand this
You never had a problem before
you over clocked it
you have a problem now

From my logic is, you over clocked it and that caused the problem, so don't overclock it. Unless you got better cooling, thermal ceiling is because cooling is not good enough. Especially if you are using stock cooler
