Hello everyone!
Having an issue after installing some new hardware today, I think I know what it is but i'd like yalls expert opinion!
Today i got new ram and a processor. DDR3 16gbytes and a AMD FX 8350 processor. I hooked it all up and it worked for a while but then the graphics card overheated and the computer went to a black screen. The processor wasnt overheated. Here is my info.
AMD FX-8350
M5a97 2.0 ASUStek motherboard
16Gbytes DDR3 memory
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
750w Power supply

I think my motherboard is either too weak or my power supply is too weak.
Help! thanks everyone

the motherboard and power supply are fine 750w is actually overkill for a single gpu. what temp was the gpu at and what temp was the processor at amd processor tj max is like 65C, were the fans on the gpu spinning and what case do you have

I'm not sure what the temp was on the GPU or the processsor but the GPU was scortching hot and the CPU was fine. Yes the fan was spinning and i have a cooler master HAF 922 case. I have the my old processor hooked up right now and its running perfect with the 16g ram and the gtx 770. My old processor was a AMD FX-6300. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks

gpus can work fine up to around 80 degrees celsius, for example the r9 290x gets up to 95 C and the max temperature on some nvidia cards before shutdown is 105 C 80 degrees 70-80 degrees celcius is scorching hot to the human touch so it might not be the gpu, btw what case do you have

Im using a HAF 922 Cooler Master case.

Im almost positive now it has something to do with the new processor. When I hooked up the 770 GTX GPU, the 16g of ram and my previous CPU it works fine, the card is like ice cold and running like a beast. Not sure if its the motherboard that doesnt like the new processor or what......
