Hi guys,

I require some help please. My PC has now twice booted due to overheating CPU.

When monitoring the Hardware Monitor of the BIOS the tmperature rise from 49 degrees Celsius to 98 degrees celsius in in about 5 minutes and stars flashing red.

Th CPUTIN and individual core temperatures vary between 53 and 62 degrees celcius

Whe using CPUID Hardware Monitor I see a spike in the power supply every 5 seconds.

Min 8.93W, Max 109W. Typical values between 23 and 107W. Is this normal and why the spike every 5 seconds? Is the power supply going and/or causing the overheating?

CPU Load indicated as between 2 and 4%

Thanks!!

Changes in current (expressed in watt) is not an indication of a failing PSU. Changes in voltage is. THe Watts change in direct response to the load placed on the components. That is also indicated by the heat generated by your processor. I suspect you have something loading the processor intermittently and your cooling is not doing a good job.

Thanks, will clean out any dust over the weekend and apply thermal paste ASAP.

What voltage is concerned, everything looks fine except the CPU VCORE value that drifts between 0.848 and 1.240. Is that normal?
