Hello,
Since this evening my computer keeps shutting down due to overheating issues.
Earlier today i could play games like Dota2 / Arma II without issues. Later in the evening my girlfriend played Overwatch and since then the overheating issues occured and instantly shut down the computer whenever it happend. Also since then Dota2 crashes when i play or any other game. Even trying to watch a movie will cause it to shut down. Nothing has been installed or done since earlier today when it did work.
I have a AMD FX8120 and as of now the idle temperature of the CPU is 83 celcius. Which is quite high for not doing anything intensive like watching a movie or watching videos on youtube etc. I have cleaned out the computer a bit dust wise, i havent been able to clean the heatsink/cpu parts yet. I did check the RAM since i've had issues before where it claimed it was overheating but somehow this stopped after swapping the RAM with new ones(heard of it being a faulty error or w/e?). I am one of the clumsiest guys ever so a friend is helping me clean the heatsink tomorrow etc and putting on new thermal paste.
Also the GPU stays at 50-55 celcius so i doubt thats the problem.
Havent checked the PSU yet.
Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
