Hey everyone! So my son's build, which is a relatively new (under 6 months old) custom build I put together, overheated while he was playing Fortnite. The machine shut down, but is now completely unresponsive.

Is it safe to say the motherboard is fried? I would imagine if it were any other component that had failed it would at least try to boot and then give me an error code right? I'm just wondering if there is any way to troubleshoot this or should I just buy a replacement motherboard? Thanks!

My PSU is: CORSAIR CX-M Series CX550M 550W 80 PLUS BRONZE

So do you think it may be the power supply? I don't know why that didn't even cross my mind. I guess I never think of the PSU when I think of overheating components. It does make sense. If it was the montherboard, the PSU fan would still turn on wouldn't it? (It does not)

The reason I say it's overheating is because it shuts down right in the middle of my son playing Fortnite. It's done it three times (over the course of a week), and this last time it won't turn back on. I should have told him to stop using it when it did it the first time. I suppose it could be something else, but overheating just seems like the most logical explanation. What do you think? It has plenty of fans, and when it shut down the last time, I let it sit for a little while, turned it back on, and checked all the fans and they were all spinning. Now I can't even get it powered up.
