Overheating GPU likely because I'm an idiot

It's part of your back plate.

Use MSI Afterburner to find the exact temperatures of your GPU when in load. As long as it is under 85C you are fine.

My current GPU temp is around 43 degrees, but the fans on it arent spinning. Can someone tell me whats going on?
It is plugged into PSU, with 6+2 connector on the left, and 6 pin connector on the right.

Yet the fans DO do a "test spin" when the PC is turning on (for a few seconds)

Edit: Figured out how to activate fan manually via MSI afterburner. They DO spin now. But why arent they doing so by default? Temp just dropped to 37 and still falling

It's called 0db feature, it won't turn the fan on unless it goes above 60C or so.

Don't worry about it. When you are playing the most heaviest game you have as long as it does not exceed 85C you should be absolutely fine.
