Overheating over minor resources-demanding game

Hello. Long story short, my PC has huge overheating problems that I can't seem to get over with.

Now it overheats for nothing (I've had problems in the past but now old scars are returning). I'm playing a game called ''Osu!'' that every goddamn pc in the world could run fine with just a 300W psu and on-board graphics. But even though my pc is old, I could run Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim, GTA IV and such with low graphics and it would never heat too much and much less shut down.

Now when I play Osu! for even just 5 minutes my GPU peaks around 100'C. I've run full diagnostics for viruses, old files, performance issues and what-not but nothing's good. I have the latest driver update too. I tried saving it a little by running MSI Afterburner but it only gives one more minute of hearing the fan spining like it's going to fly my pc.

  8Gb RAM DDR2 400mhz (yes that's terrible i know)

  PowerHurricane Orion HP585D 585W PSU
  
  Please tell me if I forgot anything essential

This game may be a very demanding game however it may not seem like it. Minecraft is very demanding but not many people know it. You probably need to upgrade EVERYTHING in that computer its kind of ancient.

I already have a new machine ready but I need new RAMs because my old DDR2s doesn't fit a Gryphon Z97. I had to stop buying pieces because I started school recently. I'll try to cut anywhere possible to save maximum performances then. Thanks anyway.

I'm guessing it is because the game is running as fast as possible. Go into your graphics control panel and try forcing vsync with that game or look for an ingame option like FPS limit or something.

Just a guess though.

Yes that improved a little. A little but it's enough to save 5-10 ' C and since my gear is old the difference is noticeable.
