Hi everybody,
My system:

İ7 6700 3.4 GHz
Asus ROG Strix GTX 980Ti OC Edition
Asus H170 PRO Gaming MOBO
Kingston HyperX Savage 2133 Mhz DDR4
Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD
Asus VG248QE 24" monitor
Cooler Master Silenco 650 Pure Case
Cooler Master G650M 650 W 80+ Bronze

Everything is perfect in 1080p gaming, but my Strix GTX 980Ti seems to be overheating since the card reaches to 83-84 degrees in the games and the the left side of the case is very hot indeed. I tried MSI Afterburner and GPU Tweak 2 and rearranged the temp settings, it worked fine but this time it seems that the performance of GPU becomes lower.

NOTE: I bought my GPU from another user, not first handed and I bought all the components last year.

I need your help, I wanna play all games in 100 FPS on ultra including TXAA High, but it seems that 980Ti is not able to do it anymore in 144 Hz. Do you think I may achieve +100 FPS on all ultra in 1080p with GTX 1080Ti?

Best Regards.

Those do not look like cases with strong airflow design imo (you cannot add a case fan to the side of the case). P.S. I have a bequiet Silent Base 800 with 4 fans installed and a Dark Rock Pro 3 cpu cooler and I cannot add a side fan because the cpu cooler is too large. Even though my cooling seems capable, the gpu tends to build a lot of heat in the case unless I open the side panel...
Of course your gpu is overheating in a closed case. You would need a case with very good airflow so it wouldn't overheat. Or, for the moment you could just take the side panel off (like I often do as I have an R9 390). Don't be so obsessed with maxed out settings (some setting reduce performance drastically with almost no added benefit) So, you can lower some settings in most games (e.g Ultra-high on shadows, foliage etc. depending on the game) with an almost unobservable difference in quality. A gtx 980 ti is still a very capable card for 1080 high fps gaming. You can try using DSR to 1440 an turning of AA. I don't suggest upgrading to a gtx 1080 ti. The performance difference is not worth the price. I suggest waiting for the next generation: Volta as I don't think amd gpus are an option for you since that monitor has Nvidia 3D.

P.S. Make a custom fan curve (more aggresive) for the gpu in MSI afterburner. You can also add more case fans if you can.

I have playing video games since I was 4, since 1988 so I'm a mentor gamer. I know 980Ti is still a very powerful GPU for 1080p, but as you mentioned I suppose my case does not have a strong airflow inside even I have 4 fans placed in it. The reason may be due to sound isolation design of Silencio 650 Pure since it is like a close fortress inside.
What do you suggest? I am considering to buy a new Cooler Master Pro 6 or Mastercase Maker 5 case. If I buy one of them and have a strong air-flow inside, do you think GPU will work better and cooler than present?

i do the same thing with my pc i have the side panel off . when i had a 390 and 8350 and i had to have my panel off or else my cpu would overheat but i dont mind having my panel off cause of how much cooler my hardware is with it off. so try taking the side panel off and share your results if you could

My question is: Do you think I should buy a more quality case with stronger air flow like Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 6 or Mastercase Maker 5? Do you recommend it?

If I were to buy a case right now I would definitely go with a full tower case (for me the pick would be bequiet Silentbase (Pro) 900 - depending on the budget and whether you would like glass or the ability to add more fans on the side) -wasn't even launched when I built my pc:

P.S. For the moment opening the side panel is fine (you just need to clean more often)
