Ive never had this sort of thing done before, but I don't understand how a 30 min - 60 min installation could cost so much. Also there are two fairly expensive charges on there that don't pertain to my vehicle at all I was wondering if someone here could explain that and if this cost is justified at all.

Thanks.

With a new set of speakers and a new head unit it seems about right. Everything on there is applicable to your vehicle. The head unit install price is pretty standard although $150 to install the speakers seem a little high. That is a really easy install to do. You could probably do it yourself and save +$200 or spend it on some much better gear.

do some research and do it urself, for that price you could have that and decent amp and subwoofers. youtube is a great place to find tutorials, most speaker replacements take less than 20 minutes a speaker. all it is is usually pop the door panel off unscrew/unclip the oem speakers disconnect two wires connect the new speaker screw it in and put the door panel back on.

You can't get a decent amp and a subwoofer for the cost of the install. $200 will get you a cheap sub and amp but then there's still the box, fuse and holder and cables. For my money I'd keep the stock speakers and install an amp and a 10" sub. Having all the bass come out of the subwoofer and a different head unit will improve the sound more than a different head unit and speakers.

For around $220 you can pick up a re srx12d2 and an apcl10001d and spen maybe an extra 30 on a sealed box, it is a good sq sub as long as you get the reccomended cubic feet right

First Off, listening to everyones opinion of what's easy it what's best is plainly retarded. Seek a professionals opinion before anything. If you want to know if the geeksquad agent working on your car is knowledgeable, look at his certification level and ask how long he has been doing this work professionally. Every mom and pop shop is different and every best buy is different. Secondly buying cheap anything can make the sound quality worse most definitely unclean bass and amps which all cheap ones are horrible. You do well upgrading speakers on systems that aren't premium audio OEM. They will give you a wider range depending if the vehicle as active crossover network or not. Buying good quality speakers gets you the most advantage second to a new head unit. A quality head unit will allow you to manipulate your sound to your preferences. Deleting your vehicles OEM amplifier will get rid of any sound restrictions. Then adding a sub in with a quality amp and quality wiring and specd box will enable you to get the right type of bass for your music preferences. Nothing except for head units is recommended Across the board to all users. Every thing has it's purpose and niche it fills. Finally with geek squad installing it. A seasoned professional will do it right the first time and not cut corners as per best buys operating procedures. Not all installers are created equal but if you get a good one it will be well worth the money. Not including the lifetime nationwide warranty you get on the services performed. Try and get that at any other Business.
