Just installed new mobo and cpu and I get an overcurrent detected on USB device. Powering down in 15 seconds to protect main board. I have nothing plugged in at this point to USB. Help what could this be. It's a msi z270 m7
do you have the case front usb connected to the motherboard try disconnecting that If it still pops up with no usb device connected then it the motherboard.

I disconnected all USB headers as well. I also tried to start it outside the case with nothing plugged in to any USB header. Still same warning

Then it a motherboard fault try to look at the usb port and see if their dust or any bent pins because their no much you can do I asume you just bought it just return it to the place you bought it from and exchange it.
yeah i actually sent it back for rma today. I blew put all the ports with air cleaner, looked for bent pins...nothing. Oh well hopefully neweggs RMA is quick.
