I nabbed one of my mother's old PCs, and am planning on turning it into a linux box. I am just curious if/how I could overclock this paperweight, just for the fun of it... 😛
I appreciate any input!

Maybe if your extremely LUCKY you can get it to 133MHz. If your motherboard supports MMX processor voltage (P55C), you could always put an AMD k6-2 400 in it and set it to 2x bus (interpreted to 6x by the processor), or put in the fastest standard processor that it supports.

I had a P120 on a VX and it ran sweet at 133 MHz.But it was multiplier locked so wouldn't go higher(No support for 75 or 83 MHz FSB on my mobo).
I suggest you experiment and find if it's multi locked or not. These are the possibilities I find best suited:

2*75=150 (may not work)
1.5*75=112.5 (if not locked this would be a great setting)
2.5*66=133 (it would be very easy if not locked)

Go for the higher FSBs as they're better than raw clockspeed.I THINK 1.5*75 is better than even 2.5*66...

I have personally seen the not-locked P100 FAIL to reach 133 about 200 times. It fails to work or remain stable about 2/3 of the time for me. BTW, I've refurbished about a thousand or so.
