I finally got some gonads today and stripped the casing off my p2 klammath cpu. I was hoping to overclock it a little further than now, but to no avail. I mounted the same heatsink and fan on it with new thermal compound. I thought attaching it direcly to the core surface would help. Nope.
The cpu multiplier is unlocked up to 4.5 (300). I have been running at that speed (66 x 4.5 = 300) for more than a year now. It runs without a hitch at the 'turbo 66' speed (68 x 4.5 = 309) but won't post at the next fsb (75 x 4.5).
Can anyone suggest how to get this one to post at the 75 fsb? I know the system is stable at 75, as I used to run it at 4 x 75 = 300 before I realized the chip could go up one more bin. I'm going to try to burn it in at 309 for a day or so. Any other suggestions to reach 333+?
Thanks
