G'day it's me again,

I got another one for you guys, this one is P3-866 with Asus cuv4x-e m/b, tell me what's the limit for them and which one is the most stable with long up-time.

thanx

Less waiting time is MUCH MUCH better..........

Does that run on the original equipments or it needs extra heatsink or u know what?

Less waiting time is MUCH MUCH better..........

Depends on the original equipement. The BIG Intel Retail heatsink works. And most other heatsinks that size or larger. NOne of the "space saving" cheapo heatsinks are recommended by me.

Back to you Tom...

I am planning to oc it close to 1ghz, which is the m/b's limit, anything I need to be awared of? Like settings, issues..............

Less waiting time is MUCH MUCH better..........

975 IS close to 1000, last I checked. Memory will be the biggest thing to watch, everything else should be fine.
Their is a "tight spot" on most PIII's around 980MHz. To get past it may require significant voltage increases and excellent cooling.

Back to you Tom...

So you are saying that under 975mhz there is no need for voltage increase and the original equipments will do, am I reading you correctly?

Less waiting time is MUCH MUCH better..........

My celeron 700 is working great at 1050 without any voltage increase, nor heatsink replacement. So heat should not be a problem.
