I got another one for you guys, this one is P3-866 with Asus cuv4x-e m/b, tell me what's the limit for them and which one is the most stable with long up-time.
Most PIII's make it up to just under 1GHz, like 980MHz. In your situation 975 at 150FSB works quite nicely for most systems as long as your memory can handle it.
Depends on the original equipement. The BIG Intel Retail heatsink works. And most other heatsinks that size or larger. NOne of the "space saving" cheapo heatsinks are recommended by me.
975 IS close to 1000, last I checked. Memory will be the biggest thing to watch, everything else should be fine.
Their is a "tight spot" on most PIII's around 980MHz. To get past it may require significant voltage increases and excellent cooling.
