Thought I might try this CPU for first attempt at building my own computer. I checked Intel's website regarding specs. They listed 2 versions, the Retail box and the OEM. Everything spec'ed the same except for the Thermal Design Power. Retail box was listed as 46.8w while OEM product was listed at 38.0w. The glossary said this was the "Maximum amount of heat which a thermal solution must be able to dissipate from processor so that the processor will operate under normal conditions", whatever that means. It seemed like a fairly sizeable difference in the numbers, can anyone explain what this is in laymens terms and is it something to consider before purchasing, that is if its possible to buy the OEM version of it.

They should be the same.

Link please.

Retail box has a 3 year warranty. (best one to buy)

OEM has dealer 15 to 90 day warranty and does not come with a heat sink. OEM sells for about $10 bucks less.
