P4 2.4C Over Clocking?

Hi! i was reading the P4 O/C guide on the Forum, so i thought to post my O/C Experience.
I just bought a P4 2.4C(SL6WR)Malay, M/B Asus P4P800-DLX(BIOS Ver: 1015.002 Date: 01/28/2004), RAM Kingstone PC3200 (256x2).
I O/C my processor to 3.12GHz with default VCore, RAM speed 260. and it is perfectly stable. but if i want to go above 3.12 .i.e 3.3GHz it doesnt boots. i want to ask that Is this cause of my RAM, which is already amazingly working at a speed of PC4200 RAM or is this the MAX i can get out of my processor.

Same problem here. That might just be the limit of your ram.

Try setting the ram timing to 320(5/4) and try again.

You might need a small increase in ram or cpu voltage to go farther.

I aint signing nothing!!!

You'll need more vcore. And more Vdimm. Your ram will hold you back and yes you will most likely have to run in 5/4 mode.

Hi! i have set the RAM timming to 320(5/4), and still nothing happened, i have increased the RAM voltage to 2.75 and CPU VCore to 1.6, and it doesnt boots XP and when i set my RAM timmings to 266, than XP boots but when i see the desktop computer hangs?
whats the problem?

Wow, you just bought a 2.4C? They must have seen you comming a mile away! You didn't know that Intel sells the 2.8C for the same price? The 2.8C of course is a better processor for overclocking simply because the resulting frequency within the bus speed limits of most boards/RAM is higher.

That's almost as bad as someone paying XP2500+ price for a 1700+ because he heard it was good for overclocking.
