from the link you posted ? okay firstly what motherboard have you got? and what cooling? ddr 400 ram could limit the overclock tho anyways i guess the motherboard and cooling re the most inportand things we need to know.

oops .. well it depends on the cooling and airflow really .

The risk is greater if you have to increase your cpu coltage. If your worried, I would just stick to increasing your FSB in the bios by 5mhz at a time and then booting to see if stable. If your temps stay within +5 degrees and you don't increase voltage than your pretty safe. If you keep your RAM 1:1 and increase it along with the cpu you might only get to 3.4 stable with reasonable temps, if you set a RAM divider you will likely be able to increase the OC safely. Use memtest and prime95 to test stability.

Well I have great cooling, it's in the 95 percentile.

Ive got a 120mm for the PSU, and an 80mm on the back of that, a 120mm at the back port,a 120mm in the front near the hard drives and another on the other side of the hard drives, along with the gigabyte g-power pro CPU cooler, which is 110mm.

90% of the fans are speed controled.

Unless there is going to be at least a 10-20% increase in performance, then I don't see a need to risk it.

dont then. heat with pentium 4s with quickly become a problem along with the increased power consumption if you overclock, even with relitivly good cooling...overclock when the compy seems to way too slow and when you feel its gettig too old you cant be bothered what happens to the rig j/k :lol:

no if you dont want to now you can alwasy do it later and get a little more performance when the rig gets older.
