P4 Desktop processor one pin on the edge broken

The CUP fell of the table and one of the side pin on the edge has been broken.
Can the processor still show display?? Currently there is no display on the monitor although the cpu is powered & assuming it's working.
Kindly advice.

The only pin I ever broke off any P4 was luckily DPSLP# which is only used for mobile processors to reduce power state to C3--it was a desktop chip so not a problem.

Far and away the most pins are Vcc power and Vss ground so if one of those is broken it's no big deal because there are many redundant ones. But it sounds like you may have broken something rather more important.

It's possible to put a piece of wire in the socket hole corresponding to the missing pin, that sticks up just a bit to touch when the CPU is locked down. But you have to remember it is there when and if you ever try to swap CPUs in the future.
