Which heatsink and fan is good for a P4 2.66, I was thinking maybe a Thermatake 7+ or a Alpha PAL8942M82 Which is better do they both fit because the site says the Thermaltake is a socket A/370???

Is the Thermaltake 9 better then the 7+ ???????

I want to do a bit of overclocking aswell so it has to be sufficient to handle the extra heat

Please help I really don't what cooler to get my motherboard will be a gigabyte GA-8IHXP

Are these heatsinks ok or are there better that you guys can suggest

Thanks

Define a "bit" of overclocking. The Intel stock cooler (included with boxed CPU) is excellent. My 1.8A is overclocked to 2557 (143FSB) with the default cooler plus a case fan.

Unless you want to overclock a LOT, the included cooler should do it.

Dans has a huge CPU cooler review, with a section specifically for P4 coolers of all shapes and sizes.

The best heat sink for P4 is probably the Swiftech MCX4000. Next would be the Alpha PAL8092.

The V7+ works in Socket 478, but V9 does not.

For your P4 1.8a .... what kind of MB, memory and video card are you using to get that result?

Every working computer must be improved .... or replaced ...
