I am trying to build another pc out of some extra parts i have laying around and am running into a little frustration and would like to know if its my motherboard, or another component. So heres how it went, bought all the peices to build a computer.
asus p4c800 deluxe
p4 3.0E
1 gig, 2x512 corsair 3200c2
radeon 9800
80 gig sata seagate
lg dvdrw

so i hook up the ram the cpu and the vid card, hoping to get a post. But i dont get any. after many exhaustive hours i check over everything and i realize that my brother(who apparently knows everything about computers) had put the processor in wrong and bent 2 pins, so i scrapped that cpu and bought a new one.. brought it home, set it up again and stil didnt get any post, so i figured that thre must be somethign wrong with my mobo, so i go out and buy an abit ic7-g, wel i get it all set up with the abit board and it still doesnt work,
but after a little tinkering i realize one of my sticks of ram is dead, thats why it hasnt been posting( i had tried using only one stick but for some reason onyl tried one of the sticks, the broken one) so now im back to the p4c800 trying to build another computer. pretty mcuh the same set up, same chip, same ram and same vid card, but this p4c800 still wont post, but when i remove the ram altogether it gives me the no ram beeps. any ideas why my mobo isnt posting?
thanks for the help

Did you connect the square 4-pin "ATX12v" connector from the power supply to the motherboard?

Hmmm. you scrapped a 3.0E over two bent pins? Mail it to me and I'll see what I can do.

YES I DID HOOK UP THE POWER SUPPLY, THATS HOW I GET BEEPS WHEN THERES NOT RAM IN, CAUSE THERES POWER GOING THREW IT.
Actually the 2 pins got smooshed and the base of the pins fell out.
