I would like to know if it is really worth the extra money to buy the P4G8X and if so specifically why? The technical differences don't seem to warrant the price difference. Separately, what is the fastest DD Ram that can be run on the respective boards. Similarly, am I only going to see minimal differences with the fastest Ram and if so what slower speed would do about the same job? Please help me make a wise choice. Thank you!

P4G8X is using Intel E7502 Granite Bay chipset which only support up to DDR266. So a mobo using SiS655 chipset e.g. Gigabyte SINXP1394 gives you 6-Dual features, including support of Dual-ch DDR333.

My PC has gone to hell... because it's a killer machine...
Edited by TKH on 02/12/03 10:44 PM.

So the fastest ram that the 7205 will handle is PC2100(i.e. 266)? Also, are you recommending a mobo with an SIS655 instead? Thanks.

The Asus sounds good. Remeber if you are overclocking on a budget I would suggest going with 266 DDR, for the same price as OEM 333 ram you can get some quality crucial ram and overclock it to specs. If you got the money though go ahead. Also, you have to concider future support. Asus tends to provide bios updates even for older boards where many other companies just let their products go after the warranty expires.

Which ASUS are you recommending? The previous person that posted stated that 266 is the fastest RAM I would be able to run. Is that your understanding also?
