I just built a new computer with P4P800-E DELUXE
& P4/2.8E w/HT
It works well so far, but the BIOS revison is 1002
according to the boot screen. Is that right??

I have flashed many BIOS before, but the Asus instructions
are less than clear to me.

"refer to ASUS Download Site for latest version of AFUDOS.EXE BIOS
tool utility.""

" Please copy AFLASH.EXE" ? Do they mean AFUDOS.EXE?

Also, I can't find how to make a bootable floppy in Windows 2000.
How do I do that?

My CPU temps run from 35-48C, with stock heatsink & fan.

Take the ASUS update from the cd delivered with ur mb.
It's the easiest, I think.

I would recommend always checking the download page, for
any warnings about which flash methods are not to be used
for a particular release of BIOS.

If you check the download page right now, this very minute,
only 1002 is listed. There is no beta BIOS listed. If you
check ftp.asuscom.de, there is a 1004 beta BIOS for the
P4P800-e, but I would wait for a few days until it makes
it to the download page. At least give other users a
chance to test the new BIOS for you 🙂

Been using the 1004 for last 24 hours and no problems, was using the 1003
beta and they were also fine. Use the ASUS update program to get it from the
German ASUS site.

I just use EZ-Flash. I think only the new 1018 release has a warning
about not using EZ-Flash unless you're upgrading from 1005 or higher.
