Can the P4PE boot from a USB device (Flash Memory or USB Hard Drive
etc)? Digging around, I've come up with some references that suggest
it does but I can't see anywhere in the BIOS to set it. I believe I
have the latest BIOS.

Can someone clear up my confusion?

I can not answer your question, but the feature to be USB bootable was
added to USB rather late after it was interduced.

If I recall correct when I looked into the issue, there are two
standards that the BIOS needs to support for booting of of a USB
device. one was called USB-floppy (emulated a floopy disk) and
usb-hdd.

My last thumb drive had software to setup the memory stick to work
with either of these, but I never used it. Very little point in
setting up if only your machine could use it.

And as to your question, if should be listed under boot devices. If it
is not there, there is a good change you can not do it.
