AMD got big into the business LONG AGO-I think it was when Intel released the 286-Intel couldn't keep up with demand and humbley asked AMD to fill their orders! Back then AMD did not have their own architecture! But the AMD 286 turned out to be a GREAT processor. It BECAME nothing when the PII was released, and the got back into the running with the Athlon. Now they excel in certain areas, but that won't last forever. This is a tug of war, it will continue to go back and forth, and Intel has already begun to redeem themselves-see Tom's German website for more details. I would like to see the two companies battle it out for as long as possible-everyone benifits.
