p6n lsi-fi wont accept memory in dimm 1 and 3(CHA green)

yea i could just leave it the way it is. im probably never going to see a difference in performace but i just wanted to run dual channel.

the slots seem find to me but i just wanted to know if it's a memory compatibility issue or are dimm 1 and 3 useless from now on?

Why do you think you are not running in dual-channel mode? Have you tried running CPU-Z or PC Wizard 2007 or similar program to report the memory mode?

It's hard to know if it's a MB problem or a memory problem, but OCZ is known for having more compatibility problems, so I'd bet on the memory.

Also, I had an issue with and MSI board (p6n diamond) and all I had to do was update the BIOS. Make sure you have the most recent revision. Hope you get it fixed.

i checked cpu-z it says "channel# single". and i have the latest bios.
i hope its a bios or memory problem but it's not a big problem.

thanks for the replies guys.

yea i've tried that. whenever there is a memory stick in the green slots, it doesnt boot. it just hangs with a black screen. it only boots fine if it's only in the orange slots.

i might try look for someone with a different brand memory sticks and try it out on my motherboard.
