These are the full specs of the computer.

Xfx gtx 295
Intel i5 2500k
Asus p8z68 v
Corsair vengeance 2x4gb 1600mhz
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
Antec 900 case
OCZ gameXstream 850w psu

Basically I ordered parts the motherboard and cpu from ebay before and ended up sending them back as I used to have a continous reboot loop where it would boot on and off continuously as fully described here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2200394/asus-p8z68vlx-continuous-reboot.html ended up sending both of the items back and it turned out it was a faulty motherboard which I got a refund for.

Ordered another motherboard and cpu of ebay as you cant get that processor new for a decent price anymore. And I plug everything in and it powers on for about a second and then switches off and i have to unplug it to power it on again so its not a continuous cycle as it was before. All the LED lights flash on once when it powers and then switch off again (VGA, CPU, DRAM and BOOT DEVICE)

One thing I found quite strange was that when I unplug the cpu power connector from the motherboard it boots up but I just get no display on the screen and I have the dvi cable connected to the motherboard with no GPU installed and of course the CPU light stays on.

I have tried 1 ram stick in each and still no luck.
Tried to reset CMOS by removing the battery and the jumper and then replacing.
Tried to power with no hdd installed still no luck.
tried to power with no gpu and on board.

All them solutions had the same outcome.

My old partss are a p5p43TD and a Q8300 so I cant test with other parts but this worked with all the other parts in the computer even after rebuilding it to test if it was the PSU.

Just to mention also with the faulty motherboard I ordered a new PSU and it still gave me the same issue so I returned the new psu. But now I'm thinking its a psu issue though wis ith this because it seems like the cpu isnt getting power and it isnt stuck in a continuous reboot loop like last time.

Hope this is all clear to you all, its quite hard to explain it all.

Any help is appreciated.

I have checked my motherboard for compatibility for the motherboard and the cpu and it says my cpu is compatible since 0401 version and next to the serial number on my motherboard like a little white sticker it says 0606 so im not sure whether thats my bios version or not but im pretty sure it is. If anyone can shed light on that matter also would help a lot.

EDIT: Just ordered a new PSU although I highly doubt its that as it works with my old parts just fine although my old mobo needed a 4 pin cpu and this one uses a 8 pin so the 2nd +4 was never used so it could be that.
