P8Z77-V PRO USB3 pins broken

I noticed my external
Mediasonic RAID array was behaving strangely and other items were randomly disconnecting from my PC. I checked the plug and noticed 2 pins had snapped off. I am not sure if they snapped inside of the case plug or not. Any way to check that? I have ordered a new motherboard, but dn't want to crush the new pins if the old ones are still trapped inside the USB3 case plug. ANy ideas?

Changing motherboard because of this is a bit extreme. No?
USB 3.0 controller card would be perfectly fine solution.

But if your case USB 3.0 plug is broken, you can get replacement front panel

I hadn't thought of that. LOL. Maddening inability of the RAID array to be recognized, followed by a nonstop startup repair loop which persisted even after restoring/refreshing Windows. I guess I had just had enough.

Any way to check that existing usb3 plug before my new MB arrives? If I have to replace it, the top of my case looks different from that one though.
