P8Z77-V Slots lower and upper

Hi,

I got a doubt about about RAM slots, I mean I got 4 GSKILL Ripjaws X and it's normal to have 2 ram more upper and 2 more lower?

1st up (black slot)

2nd down (blue slot)

3rd up (black slot)

4th down (blue slot)

Is it normal thing?

Yes, that is totally normal.

If you only had 2 RAM sticks you would install them in either the two blue slots or the two black slots. This is a color coding system to show you how to install your memory to make use of dual memory architecture.

Since you have 4 modules you can install all four of them, filling up both the blue and black slots.
