The elusive file I need that I keep seeing directions to get everywhere:
P9X79-CAP-Converter.ROM
Problem, I am not actually finding it when following the steps that should lead me to it.
These instructions seem very thorough but the problem is that when I land on the support page for the p9x79 there is no "Downloads" button but instead of Drivers and Tools button. Digging around in all the tabs in the Drivers & Tools does not yield anything more than a list of cap and rom files and this warning on earlier ones: *If your BIOS version is 1203 or older, please install the BIOS Converter first before you update the BIOS. The BIOS Converter is available in the BIOS Utilities. Great another thing telling me to find this elusive file that is not actually ANYWHERE. Either I am very dense or something is amiss here. It could be that I am already at my wits end because all I've been trying to do is install a shiny new graphics card that is not working, come to find out i have a very outdated BIOS version (0906). My goal is to get this converter inplace so that I am then able to update/flash the latest BIOS .cap file and then plug in my new GTX 980ti and have myself a grand time enjoying awesome new graphics.
I'm very much hoping someone more clever than I can help me gain access to this converter lest I lose my mind altogether.
Notes: Win 10 64-bit using Asus P9x79.
