Greetings,
I built a new development / research workstation a little over a month ago and all was fine. Up until I decided to test out the RAID feature with two of the Hard Drives I had purchased for my Wife's new build. I did the extensive research and reading upon the subject and jaquith insights and tutorials have been top notch. Now here is my current status other than EPIC fail.
First a bit of background:
SYSTEM
Intel 3960X
32gb GSKILL 2133mhz DDR3 (8 x 4gb)
EVGA GTX 570 2560MB
Intel 520 160gb SSD (Boot Drive)
WD 320gb Blue HDD (Scratch Drive) - N/C
ASUS Blu Ray 3D burner
2x Seagate 500gb HDD - N/C
So here is my problem.
After I installed the 2x 500gb drives they showed up in the BIOS just fine; switched to RAID mode; BSOD (expected).
Booted from USB stick with Windows 7 x64 used SHIFT-F10 then DISKPART to clean the SSD.
Created another USB Stick (FAT32) with the Intel 3020 & 2003 drivers in seperate folders.
Now for the interesting part; I boot off the USB stick click on "Install now", then a message box appears:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now"
Fine and dandy I smash the browse button and head over to the RSTe driver folder (same error on both).
I select "Intel(R) C600 Series Chipset SATA RAID Controller (C:\64bit\isStorA.inf)" click next.
"No new drvices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media."
Note: Since only the 180gb SSD is attached ATM the Intel Option ROM does not display its splash screen. And yes the SATA mode is set to RAID.
Any help would be appreciated because right now I have a VERY expensive boat anchor.
