Hey all,

Just getting into this game... can play USN fighter campaign just fine but
when I try to fly an SBD campaign I can control my airplane -- can't start
engines, take off, etc. None of the commands that worked for my fighter seem
to have any effect (using a full CH setup wtih TrackIR 3 Pro)....

Anyone else have this issue....?

I've got two ideas.

Have you changed the name of your pilot? I'm pretty sure all the controls
reset to default if you do and 2) the difficulty options reset if you are
starting a second campaign with the same pilot, you may be playing with
different engine options, you can check in the load campaign screen iirc

Thanks but no, I'm using teh same pilot, same control scheme.... when a
mission starts I don't even see the carrier, I have to hit chase view to
zoom to the carrier adn then no commands work -- not even autopilot.... very
bizarre. I'm guessing it's a TrackIR issue of some sort?

This can happen when either the wrong patch has been applied or a
corrupt patch has been applied. I've seen it when someone applied the
stand alone patch over a merged install or the merged patch over the
stand alone install...

It has nothing to do with TrackIr...

Actually a complete reinstall FB+AE+PF... didn't change anything... still
cannot control a multi-crew plane!

Very frustrating. Weird thing is I cannot uninstall PF, or install PF,
standalone -- I get an error message about "transformation path" being
invalid... this must have something to do with my problem. Perhaps I've got
a bad disc?

Just occured to me, but if you are sitting on the carrier deck make
sure you have mapped the "Chocks Away" key. You have to pull Chocks
Away before your aircraft can move (though you should be able to start
the engine.)

Don't use a burner to install it if you get weird errors Fred - if you
have an old CDROM that will do the job. Could be that copy protection

I've just reinstalled it on a burner and had no problems but some
burners suspect naughtiness and cause the installer to mess you about
