Question Packaging

Hi,
I just received a new GPU i have ordered. The packaging isnt wrapped in plastic and has no seal. is this normal? the last GPU i have ordered 2 years ago was wrapped and had a seal.

They don't always come wrapped, I've yet to buy a GPU that is shrink wrapped.
But all of them have been sealed by the open tab.

Where did you buy from?

ditech, online shop in austria. i already talked to them and they told me no msi gpu package is sealed. not sure if i believe that. also wrote to msi support, maybe they can clarify.
dont want to buy a 1250€ gpu and get one that was already returned by another customer. but i believe thats the case and they are just lying.

I pretty much have solely MSI equipment. All of MSI GPUs have been sealed, just not shrink wrapped.
So they've just had the box, but the tab itself has had a packaging seal tab on it.

Couldn't say for certain, usually the original manufacturer will during packaging stage.
Also can't guaranteed MSI haven't changed, but all MSI equipment I've had in the past has had a small seal on the tab, and I can't imagine that's changed.

I wouldn't immediately, personally I would contact MSI directly. Then await their response.
And all in all, it may not be an issue if technically it is a returned items, all resellers do this for new equipment that has been returned quickly after order but found to not be defective.

just got another msi package. a motherboard and it was also not sealed. maybe they dont seal it? or im just unlucky and got a used mobo and used gpu? its also from 2 completely different vendors. i dont know anymore.

I wouldn't say it's uncommon now.
Because typicall the component is in a sealed antistatic bag inside.
They may do it slightly differently in different parts of the world, maybe resellers by me have a tendency to put a seal sticker on it.
If you've now had 2, I would assume you're fine.

both cpu and gpu are in a antistatic wrap with a seal. but the cardbord box has no seal. maybe i explained it wrong
