Hi
I currently have a Packard Bell A4525 uk with AMD Athlon II x3 415e triple core processor and NVIDIA GeForce 6150se graphics card , 3gb ddr3 memory.
Looking at upgrading for kids to use to play Microsoft Xbox games on and downloads like Fortnite.
Is it possible? What should I be looking to fit?

Solution
The most cost effective upgrade would be a Phenom II quad core of some sort and a 2gb videocard of AMD HD 7770 or greater, or Nvidia equivalent.

There are problems with this approach. One, your current CPU is a 45W part. Given that this is a Packard Bell, it's entirely possible that the motherboard will not support any Phenom II quad core worth getting, since those are 95-125W parts. Two, speaking of power, your current power supply may also need to be upgraded to support any videocard you might buy. That is assuming the Packard Bell uses a standard power supply.

Not only that, but even with an upgraded CPU and videocard, performance still might not be good enough for the games to be enjoyable. Fortnite is pretty well optimized, but I...
You should look into a new system, for about $200 you can get a used Core i3 or i5 system that will be a lot better than anything you can do with spending money on upgrading yours. Check craigslist or whatever local site you have for used equipment for systems that already come with a gaming class video card. You can probably sell your computer for about 50 to make up the money.
