Hi. I'm getting big packet loss on the first hop (my ISP). But I'm a bit unfamiliar with pathpings and cannot confirm whether it's an issue with ISP or my modem. As a result, my connection is very slow.

Here is pathping to the first hop :

I'm guessing the issue is with my modem, but I'd like this to be confirmed before I buy a new one, or file a complaint with ISP (if issue is with ISP). Also, I have done several pathpings to various servers and websites and this packet loss is carried. Weirdest thing is that, after midnight or so, packet loss goes down to 1% which is what it should be afaik, and connection works fine. Please point me in the right direction.
Thank you.

This looks like the cut and paste damaged it but it looks like you are getting 15% loss in hop 2.

It could be the modem but that is not likely. There is no way to be sure though. The most common is some issue with the wire either in your house or the last chunk of wire from your house to the where ever it is connected to the ISP. The wire in your house you can inspect and make sure it is clean an dry.

Most other stuff you will need to call the ISP.

Packet loss that changes by time of day could indicate a ISP that has over sold the connection to your neighborhood and all the people around you are using all the bandwidth. The ISP will never admit that. Still it should greatly affect the speed tests and they seem to understand...

Sorry about the terrible cut and paste, I've replaced with screenshot.
And thanks for reply. Wish there was a way to test modem but I'll take your word for it. I will try to contact ISP to see if they acknowledge a problem on their end, if I'm lucky. :)
