Hello all. I've been experiencing a very frustrating problem that's been going on and off for about 2 weeks now. It's getting very aggravating and my ISP (Time Warner Cable) is just terrible with their customer service. I will likely contact them AGAIN but my goodness.. They really don't help at all, whether it's over chat on computer or on the phone. So I'm hoping that maybe someone on this forum can help me out.

Well, it may not be my ISP's fault. My computer is the only one experiencing this issue. A total of 4 computers (2 computers, 2 laptops) are connected to my network. The main computer is hooked up directly to the modem whereas mine and the 2 laptops are connected through WiFi (router). Strange thing is, my computer has been the only one experiencing this packet loss for the past 2 weeks.. All the other computers, whether it's the main one or the 2 laptops work perfectly fine. I made my computer 2 months ago and is pretty decent (compared to what I had before) so I don't think specs have anything to do with it. Also, I doubt I have a virus of any sort because I keep downloads to a very minimal task, and I don't excessively download or go to malicious sites (well, who knows what's malicious or not).

Here's my Netalyzr analysis: http://

I'm trying to understand what this means.. I see a few red so I know that's not good, but I'm not exactly sure as to what the problem is.

If there is ANY clarification one needs, I will gladly provide it. I'd like to emphasize that I am the ONLY one out of the 4 networks that is experiencing this packet loss and dreadful connection. And at times it's good, at times it's terrible... Hope someone can help me out, and thank you for your time.

I'd start by seeing if there is a new/different driver available for your network card, plugging the computer directly into the router via ethernet (if possible), and/or looking to replace your network card.

Are there any household appliances between your computer and the wireless router? Although unlikely, I suppose some stray waves can be interfering with your packet communications. While on the topic of packets, what exactly makes you think you are having a "packet loss" problem? The fact you are the only one experiencing the problem allows us to remove the modem and wireless router as likely culprits, and as jdog2pt0 said, checking for firmware/driver updates is a good start. I am not aware of any diagnostics you can perform on your network card, but you can start by disconnecting the antenna (if possible) and make sure everything is nice and snug when you plug the antenna back in.

As far as your Netalyzr results go, the items in red are minor and can be shrugged off. The only I might be concerned with is the "network buffer measurements". It states your results are a bit high, maybe run that app on another computer on your network and see if the results for that category are similar.

Hope this helps and best of luck with your endeavors - Sub

I ran the test by typing in "ping www.google.com -t" on cmd and I saw quite a bit of "Request timed out" during the long test. I read that this indicates packet loss? That's what I'm referring to.

Okay, I won't worry too much about the Netalyzr results for now. Now, I didn't mention this but I actually use a wireless USB to obtain connection. I know many frown upon it because network cards are more efficient as some say, but yeah, I have a USB to connect my computer to the network.

It's funny you mentioned updating certain drivers. I was looking around my control panel and devices and saw the exclamation point on my PC hardware. I ran into 3 "doesn't have a driver" error that's not fixed. One for ethernet, SM bus controller, and USB. So I did some light research and found answers on this forum actually.. So I downloaded the most recent Realtek lan driver for my motherboard and the "ethernet doesn't have a driver" error is now gone! I'm left with SM bus controller and USB doesn't have a drive errors now. I think the biggest issue was the ethernet one but I'm trying to solve the other 2 as well. I also read that one has to download chipset software? From intel? Not sure as I'm still trying to solve it as a type this, but I'll see if my internet is more stable since I downloaded an update for a driver.

I'm also seeing a "Problem with PnP devices" with an exclamation point.. I'm trying to do some research on it but do you or anyone else by chance know what this means?
