Packet Loss on ps4 but nothing else

I am experiencing packet loss on my ps4. My ps3 and laptop have no issues. But the packet loss issue is only at my house, when I have my ps4 at my mother's house. It works perfectly fine. I am really confused because it's the only device having packet loss and it's only on my internet. If someone could help me it would be amazing!

Are you on wifi or wired?

Is your connection getting maxed when there is packet loss or is it just all the time even when there is no one using the internet?

Is the ps4 telling you there is packet loss or are you just seeing jumps? Is the ps4 downloading in the background?

I am on wifi. The packet loss is even in the middle of the night when I am not downloading and everybody is sleeping. I know it's packet loss because my game is giving me the packet loss symbol and another game I play has packet loss % that shows if you turn it on and every 10-30 seconds my packet loss goes from 0% to 2-8%. I called my ISP and I have someone coming out saturday.

If it's measurable at the system your wifi is likely not strong enough. It could either be swamped wifi at the time or if it's pretty consistent just a poor connection. Normal packet loss would happen at your modem for up or the isp equipment for down. The ps4 wouldn't even know.

There are free phone apps out there that will help you see what your WiFi quality is like. It could be that your PS4 is just a WiFi shadow and not getting a good signal. Even moving it a couple feet to the left or right might help (or not). Play with it some and see. If you are stuck with WiFi, you might consider a WiFi range extender (booster) or mesh network, but I would also look into powerline networking or my preference, Ethernet (yes, you might have to crawl in the attic a bit).

** PS .. your ISP is mostly concerned about the signal at "the box". Past that is generally your problem. Since other devices seem to work fine, the signal at "the box" is probably fine. Maybe you have the world's nicest ISP and they help you out, but don't be shocked if they say the signal at "the box" is fine and shrug.

I got no clue bro. Thanks for trying to help, I am just going to have my modem replaced. I have had my ps4 for over 2 years on this connection and its just started to lag on it. Again, thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think I will just ask the guy who comes out to replace the modem. Thanks for trying to help, if that doesn't work I will get back to you.

I'd consider an access point like Unifi. It's wifi is much better than the ones they rent you.
