My windows 7 PC, Dell Precision T1700 SFF, suddenly started having a problem where within a few minutes of booting, it bluescreens with the error "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA." I had recently added a ram stick to the pc, so I figured that was at fault. I removed the new stick and it did not solve the problem. The error does not occur when I boot into safe mode, but I don't think any software or drivers have been updated recently. What could the problem be?

Specs:
i3-4160 CPU
12 GB DDR3 Ram, 1 4GB stick and 1 8GB stick

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  • Open Windows File Explorer
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  • Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  • zip the files into an zip file
  • Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  • Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .
how long you used those 2 sticks together?
mismatched ram can cause bsod

so can drivers as well though.
